Niiiiiice coloring, and I like the shading too! The realistic looking hand looks a bit out of place if compared with the overall style, though, but it is just a personal nitpick.

Neat idea, a manic Contra/Madness crossover game sounds like an excellent combination. I always wonder if your artworks would convert well into actual games and it looks like this piece would actually work.

Nice line work, looks really smooooth.
Also just a tip, it helps to stand out your character if the background color "lightness" isn't in the same spectrum of the character's (basically light colors for the character, darker colors for the background(but not TOO dark) and vice versa).
